Diddy Kong first appeared in Double Dash!!, while Funky Kong debuted in Mario Kart Wii. Pauline and Peachette will make their Mario Kart console racing debuts, having only been playable in Mario Kart Tour.

While the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 DLC will bring eight new courses, only one was shown in the sneak peek trailer. Daisy Circuit from Mario Kart Wii is the only confirmed Wave 6 circuit so far. The remaining seven are yet to be confirmed, and will likely be a mix of classic and original tracks.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 6 release date

Nintendo hasn’t confirmed a release date for Wave 6 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, only confirming a Winter 2023 release window.

For collectors, Nintendo is releasing a physical bundle of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass on 6 October 2023. As well as the DLC, the bundle comes with an assortment of extra goodies, including a pin set, art cards, and stickers.

The Wave 6 DLC is included as part of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass, which costs £22.49 on the Nintendo store or is included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Across six waves, the Booster Course Pass will add 48 tracks, bringing the total number of circuits to a whopping 98 – the most in any Mario Kart game to date.

With the Booster Course Pass launching in March 2022, Nintendo has been expanding Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s track roster for over a year. As we approach the finish line, let’s hope it’s paving the way for Mario Kart 9.
