Modder adds Kirby Car to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Kirby took the internet by storm after last weekā€™s Nintendo Direct. After a new trailer for Kirby and The Forgotten Land showed the cutesy pink blob swallow a car to demonstrate the new Mouthful Mode, it became an instant internet meme.

Inevitably, it didnā€™t take long for the racing game community to share images of the Kirby Car (or Carby, as heā€™s affectionally known) starring in other racing games from Forza Motorsport 2 to Assetto Corsa Competizione. Ā

Fans have been begging Nintendo to add Carby to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This wish has now come true thanks to a talented modder.

Modder adds Kirby Car to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Carby has been unofficially added to MK8 Deluxe by a modder.

Created by RiazorMC, a hilarious fan-made video shows Car Kirby in action driving around various MK8 circuits including Rainbow Road, Sunshine Airport, and Bowserā€™s Castle.

Itā€™s impressive how fast RiazorMC was able to make the mod and get it working in MK8 Deluxe.Ā Sadly, though, you canā€™t download and install the mod to drive Carby in MK8 Deluxe.

Let's hope Nintendo is listening and adds Carby to other games soon. Weā€™d love to see Car Kirby come to MK8 Deluxe in future DLC or Mario Kart 9 when it eventually comes out. Make it happen, Nintendo.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass
