Monster truck fans can start getting excited with the announcement of Monster Jam Showdown’s release date. The latest big-wheeled racer has been confirmed for 2024, and we don’t have long to wait to get behind the wheel.
Monster racing
Monster Jam is a long-running monster truck racing series, with an accompanying TV show for fans to get right into the heart of the action. Alongside the high-octane TV show, Monster Jam also has its very own video game series, where fans can try controlling the big beasts themselves.
The Monster Jam game series first debuted in 2002 with Monster Jam: Maximum Destruction, with nine games making up the series to date. Monster Jam has transitioned through several developers since then, with Rainbow Studios developing the most recent entry, Monster Jam Steel Titans 2, back in 2021.
Now, Milestone has been handed the keys to the Monster Jam series, with Monster Jam Showdown announced earlier this year. We now have a release date for the game, and it turns out we don’t have too long to wait!
Monster Jam Showdown releasing this August
Following the announcement in March, Monster Jam Showdown now has a confirmed release date of 29 August 2024. A three-day early access period has also been confirmed, meaning eager players can fire up their engines from 26 August.
Along with the release date, Milestone has also confirmed two fan-favourite trucks will feature in the game at launch: players can cause carnage in the iconic Grave Digger and Megalodon from day one.
Monster Jam Showdown will be set across three original environments, with Death Valley and Alaska joining Colorado to make up an exciting trio. Ten different game modes will keep players hooked on the monster truck action, with 40 trucks available from launch and 26 more coming in future DLC.
Monster Jam Showdown will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players looking for more information can check out the official Monster Jam Showdown website.
