Milestone have done it yet again, by making another great MotoGP game. MotoGP 22 has been a revelation for what has already been an amazing series.
The official game of the 2022 MotoGP season is probably the best game the series has ever seen since Milestone took it over. Round sixteen of the 2022 season is the penultimate European race of the campaign.
We visit Spain for the third time, this time for the Aragon Grand Prix. The MotorLand circuit has hosted this event ever since its inception back in 2010.
This is far from an easy track to get the setup correct for though. However, we're here to help as always with our official setup guide.
Tyres
Aragon's surface isn't the smoothest and nor is it an easy one on the tyres in its corners. It's not the worst on the calendar for tyre wear though, so a medium on the front and rear works just fine.
Suspension
The front suspension needs to be on the low side for the most part to help the bike's stability. The front pre-load is all the way down at 3, with both the swingarm compression and extension at 3.
The oil quality is best at 3, with the spring harndess at 4.
The rear suspension should be set to the default value available, which is 3. This is to stirke a good balance between the bike's steering's responsiveness and its stability.
Vehicle geometry
The Vehicle Geometry should be around the default values in the aim of a good compromise. The Steering Head Inclination has to be around 4, as should the trail.
The steering plate position is best at 3 and rear swingarm length should also be up at 4.
Transmission
The gears in the the UK are around default to strike a good balance between overall top speed and acceleration. This is the case for all gears, which we've set to 4.
This includes the final ratio, as the back straight isn't that long.
Brake System
In general, the braking zones aren't that long in Motorland, but there are many that are significant. So, with little time to cool the anchors off, we've gone for the biggest available.
That means taht the fronts are up at 355 mm and the 220 mm are ideal on the rear.
ECU
You'll need to lean on the electronic aids for Aragon, starting with 4 for the traction control. Engine Braking also should be at 4 in order to help aid shaving speed through corners like the first and final corners.
Anti-wheelie also has to be at around 3 to prevent the front wheel from flying off the ground. There are some decent inclines and declines here, so you've got to be careful here.
Power mapping is best at 3 for a flying lap, but you'll need to turn this around during some points in the race. This is to save fuel and the engine. All of these can be adjusted out on track using the HUD in the bottom-right of the screen.
