There are very few racing series with an official stand-alone game. Obviously, Formula 1 has its series that is developed by Codemasters while the WRC has theirs, but after that the choice is few and far between. Until now.
Finally, the wildly popular IndyCar series will be getting its own game!
IndyCar game
Today, Penske Entertainment and Motorsport Games announced an exclusive deal to bring an official IndyCar game to players.
From ovals to classic tracks like Laguna Seca, IndyCar is a series that has a lot to offer for racing fans both new and old.
With the chance to live out your milk-covered dream of winning the Indy 500, the game is sure to be a hit.
IndyCar game release
Unfortunately, we do still have a bit of a wait on our hands as the debut title is not going to hit the shelves until 2023.
However, it will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, hopefully with Crossplay enabled by then too.
“Motorsport Games and INDYCAR are thrilled to provide fans with a long-overdue dedicated gaming experience,” said Dmitry Kozko, CEO of Motorsport Games.
“After decades of world-class racing, we cannot think of a more deserving league for a video game franchise. INDYCAR shares our commitment to bringing authentic experiences to motor racing enthusiasts. Fans can anticipate the NTT INDYCAR SERIES to meet the same level of excellence and immersive gameplay they expect from Motorsport Games.”
Motorsport Games, as the name suggests, are no slouches when it comes to the genre. Having developed NASCAR Heat and acquired the team behind rFactor 2. If they can bring that level of expertise to IndyCar we could all be in for a great time!
