It’s been five years since the last Motorsport Manager was released. Since then, the hugely popular series has been crying out for a new entry, especially since the release of Frontier’s F1 Manager. Thankfully, it looks like Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 is finally happening.
Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 teased by Playsport Games
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) released on 11 August, developers Playsport Games teased Motorsport Manager Mobile 4. The post features a video that, although very short, ends with the number four on the screen. This clearly shows that Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 is in development.
Although not revealing too much, Playsport Games confirmed the post is indeed about Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 in the replies to the original post. In a separate response, they stated that Motorsport Manager 4 will be a mobile-exclusive title. They also confirmed more will be revealed soon, but haven’t yet revealed a date.
Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 will be the first game in the series since 2018’s Motorsport Manager Mobile 3. Since then, a Nintendo Switch version of Motorsport Manager 3 has been released in 2019, but Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 will be the first new game in the series for five years.
Motorsport Manager Mobile 3 introduced new championships to the series, including Endurance and GT Championships. The game was also the first in the series to feature augmented reality, allowing players to watch races literally on their tabletops.
We’re yet to see which new features and championships Motorsport Manager Mobile 4 will have. With most four-wheel champions already in the game, could we possibly see motorcycles coming to the series?
F1 Manager now has competition
Since Motorsport Manager was released back in 2018, Frontier has introduced us to the F1 Manager series. This year’s entry, F1 Manager 2023, is a fully licensed recreation of the 2023 Formula 1 season, including all teams, circuits, drivers, and even staff members.
The F1 Manager series does draw comparisons to Motorsport Manager, with players tasked with hiring and firing team members, developing the car, and controlling race strategy out on track.
Where F1 Manager differs though is the race day broadcast options. F1 Manager features multiple camera angles where the action can be viewed from. This is in contrast to Motorsport Manager’s single top-down viewpoint. Motorsport Manager games also don't have any officially licensed race disciplines.
New to F1 Manager 2023 is the visor cam. Bringing you closer to the action than ever before, the visor cam sits inside the driver’s helmet. Now you can wince at every corner as your drivers push for victory.
With Motorsport Manager 4 now confirmed, we can’t wait to see how the series will evolve now there’s real competition out there. Playsport Games teased to "expect more very soon," so it looks like the full reveal is just around the corner.
