Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming official Motocross game for 2024, MXGP.
MXGP was officially revealed at Nacon Connect alongside other titles such as Endurance Motorsport Series. MXGP's future was in doubt after Milestone decided to halt development of the series.
Now though, Nacon has stepped into publish MXGP, with KT Racing helming the series between 2024 and 2028. What else do we currently know? We've got it all right here for you!
MXGP: Everything we know
MXGP is the official Motocross video game and was originally developed by Milestone between 2014 and 2021, with MXGP: 2021 being the most recent MXGP game.
Motocross is an off-road motorcycle racing series similar to Supercross. Unlike Supercross, though, Motocross takes place fully outside rather than in huge stadiums around the world.
Motocross has huge jumps and takes place in the pouring rain if necessary. The tracks the bikes make in one lap affect the next tour, as they can trip you up later on.
Like MotoGP, Motocross is an officially licenced FIM series and the 2024 season takes us to almost every corner of the globe.
As a fully licensed game, MXGP will include the calendar, riders, teams, bikes and sponsors from the 2024 campaign.
MXGP Tracks
MXGP will be the official videogame of the 2024 World Motocross Championship. The trailer we saw in the presentation showcased Matterley Basin, England, but surprisingly, this isn't on the 2024 calendar.
That could mean that we'll have locations and tracks from outside the official Motocross calendar. What these will be though, is anybody's guess.
As it stands, this is the full calendar for the 2024 Motocross season. The campaign begins in Argentina on 10 March and ends in Italy on 29 September:
- Argentina - Villa La Angostura - 10 March

- Trentino - Pietramurata - 14 April
- Portugal - Agueda - 5 May

- Sumbawa - Samota-Sumbawa - 30 June

Each race weekend consists of a qualifying session and two races, with an overall round winner determined by the combination of the riders' best results.
MXGP Consoles
MXGP 2021 was released on the old-gen systems of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, with a new developer in control and three years having passed, we won't see this repeated with the 2024 MXGP game.
Instead, MXGP will be a next-gen exclusive available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and Windows PC via the Steam Store.
MXGP Trailer & Release Date
We don't have a specific date for release yet, but Nacon has confirmed that MXGP will launch in "late 2024." Previous MXGP games have launched in November, so we could see a repeat of that this year.
MXGP was officially announced during the World of Sports presentation in Nacon Connect 2024 alongside other sports games like Rugby 24 and WTA Tennis.
