Alongside a new trailer for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and the surprise announcement of Endurance Motorsport Series, a new MXGP motocross game was announced at Nacon Connect 2024.
KT Racing to release new MXGP game in 2024
Previous MXGP games were helmed by Italy’s Milestone, which produced seven MXGP games between 2014 and 2021, culminating with MXGP 2021 - The Official Motocross Videogame.
Now, the official FIM world motocross game series has been picked up by KT Racing, the French studio behind Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and the WRC series before Codemasters took over the license.
Details on the new MXGP game are limited. Nacon refers to the motocross game as simply 'MXGP – The Official Motorcross Videogame' without a year in the title, suggesting a franchise reboot. Presumably, it will run on the studio’s in-house KT Racing engine. Naturally, all official riders and courses from the 2024 MXGP championship will feature.
Nacon says players will “be able to explore behind the scenes of the world’s most iconic motocross championship, with access to all the discipline’s official content – with the game providing calendar, riders, teams, bikes and sponsors.”
MXGP - The Official Motocross Videogame release date
There’s no release date for KT Racing’s new MXGP game yet, but Nacon confirmed it will land on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in “late 2024.” There won’t be a PS4 or Xbox One release, allowing KT Racing to fully utilise the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In the meantime, you can watch the announcement trailer below. No gameplay footage is shown, with the short trailer featuring action-packed footage from the real-life MXGP championship as part of a montage of new sports titles being published by Nacon.
