Aside from side modes in games like Forza Motorsport 7 and mobile-only racers like CSR Racing, drag racing is often underrepresented in video games. This is about to change with the release of NHRA: Speed For All, an official drag racing game coming soon to PC and consoles.
The definitive drag racing game
Billed as the “definitive drag racing game” and the “most “authentic NHRA game ever,” NHRA: Speed for All features all five NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series vehicle classes. These include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro Mod and Super Modified drag racing classes and vehicles.
You’ll be taming these insanely powerful drag cars on official NHRA dragways like Bristol Dragway, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, zMax Dragway in Charlotte, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, and Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
38 NHRA drivers will also feature in NHRA: Speed for All, including Brittany Force, Antron Brown, John Force, Steve Torrence, Erica Enders, Greg Anderson, and Ron Capps.
Publisher GameMill also promises “physics-based gameplay,” an extensive career mode with team management, R&D, tuning and vehicle customisation, and split/screen and online multiplayer support.
In terms of content, NHRA: Speed for All sounds like it will live up to its promise of the definitive drag racing game, but we’ll have to wait and see if the different disciplines feel distinct.
Deluxe and Ultimate Editions containing a host of extra content will be available on the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam, priced at $59.99 and $79.99 respectively.
The Deluxe Edition includes the John Force Racing Pack while the Deluxe Edition also includes the Battle Ready Pack, Moonshot Pack, Electro Blitz Pack and Nitro Fire Pack.
Release date
NHRA: Speed for All is speeding onto PlayStation5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on 26 August.
