Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway sliding onto PC and consoles

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still dominating sales years after it was released - but that hasn’t stopped other developers from trying to claim the kart racing crown.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway is the latest Mario Kart challenger, harking back to the golden age of kart racing games when every mascot character you can think of starred in their own kart racing spin-off.

Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway announced for PC and consoles

Nickelodeon Kart Racers returns later this year with a third entry developed by Bamtang Games. Rebuilt from the ground up and "bigger and better than ever," Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway will feature new tracks with water sections where your kart or bike transforms into a watercraft like in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Featuring alternate routes, the 36 tracks are inspired by Nickelodeon shows like SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Over 40 playable characters will feature from various Nickelodeon animations such as SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time, every character is fully voiced unlike in the last game, which should inject the characters with more personality.

Unusually, there’s no screenshots or trailer yet - all screenshots shown are taken from Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2.

A slew of customisation options will allow for some unusual character and vehicle combinations. For example, you’ll be able to drive the Reptar mobile as Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Release date

There’s no solid release date yet, but Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway is launching in early October on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
