Like many players, we’ve been wondering when Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 is coming. The game has been out for over a year and the first Hot Wheels expansion released last summer. Every game in the series since Forza Horizon 2 has had two expansions, so Expansion 2 is long overdue.
Playground Games promised to share an update about Expansion 2 early this year, but it wasn’t mentioned in January’s Forza Monthly. Now, after months of silence, Playground Games has teased Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 for the first time, confirming a reveal date.
First Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 teaser
The official Forza Horizon Twitter page gives us a first look at Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2’s new location. “The next big thing from the Horizon Festival in Mexico is ready to be revealed!” the post says.
While the theme is yet to be confirmed, the dirt track suggests it could be an off-road expansion harking back to the original Forza Horizon Rally expansion, possibly with a Baja theme.
This also suggests it will be more realistic than the Hot Wheels expansion in the vein of Forza Horizon 3’s Blizzard Mountain and Forza Horizon 4’s Fortune Island expansions.
As well as the new location, we can also expect Expansion 2 to include an assortment of new vehicles and a new campaign utilising the new location.
Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 reveal date
According to the Twitter post, Forza Horizon 5 Expansion 2 will be revealed on Thursday 23 February at 5pm GMT / 9am PT during February’s Forza Monthly show streaming on Twitch and YouTube.
We’ll no doubt find out the theme as well as the release date during the show. With stiff competition from Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and The Crew Motorfest this year, let’s hope Expansion 2 can put Forza Horizon 5 back on the map.
