While there's still no sign of a sequel, Psyonix is keeping the phenomenally-popular Rocket League alive with regular content updates.
The Neon Nights event is now over, but Rocket League is bringing back the popular NFL Fan Pass from last year to celebrate this weekend's Super Bowl LVI. As part of the celebrations, the fan-favourite Gridiron Limited Time Mode is also returning.
NFL Fan Pass returns to Rocket League
Announced by Psyonix in a blog post, the NFL Fan Pass will be available from today at 6pm GMT/9am PST until 15 February. For those who missed out last year, the NFL Fan Pass will be available in the Item Shop for 1000 Credits.
If you bought last year’s NFL Fan Pass, you’ll automatically receive the latest bundle, which includes new Breakout and Fennec Animated Decals for all 32 NFL teams and new Team Helmet Toppers.
Content from last year’s pass is also carrying over, including Dominus and Octane Decals for all 32 teams, a Pigskin Paint Finish, and the complete Team Player Banner and Team Antenna collection.
Gridiron Limited Time Mode
Following last month’s Neon Lights event inspired by the game’s music, the Gridiron Limited Time Mode also returns to Rocket League today. Inspired by American football, in this mode, the ball attaches to your car when you touch it. You then have to rush and jump over your opponent’s defence to stop them from stealing the ball.
Completing challenges will earn you XP and unlock the NFL Wheels and Field General Player Title. The Gridiron LTM ends on Wednesday 15 February at 2am GMT/Tuesday 15 February 6pm PST.
In addition, Psyonix is also bringing back the Gridiron Games event. Starting on 10 February, you can watch some of the world’s best Rocket League players compete in Gridiron on Twitch.
