While it isn’t known when Skoda’s Vision GT car will be driveable in Gran Turismo 7, the new concept will be revealed next week on April 24 at the PLAYzone Arena in Prague. This is the first time that Skoda has appeared in a Gran Turismo game. While the Fabia R5 Rally2 evo appears in rally titles like EA Sports WRC and WRC Generations, the Czech manufacturer is rarely seen in mainstream racing games.
With Skoda making its Gran Turismo debut, that could change, as the manufacturer is “strengthening its presence in the digital racing world.”
Starting in 2013 with the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo for GT6, the Vision GT program invites manufacturers to design fictional concept cars exclusively for Gran Turismo. Genesis was the last manufacturer to sign up, with the gorgeous Genesis Vision GT added to Gran Turismo 7 in January this year.
While most concepts are never released outside of Gran Turismo, some spawn limited production models like the McLaren Solus, which was inspired by the McLaren Vision GT.
