  • Key Update: Current-gen exclusivity confirmed. Official Steam Deck support targeting high-fidelity performance.

  • Quick Answer: Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a current-gen exclusive releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will not be available on older hardware. While a Nintendo Switch 2 port is not hinted at all, Fuse Games has officially confirmed Steam Deck support, targeting a stable 30fps high-fidelity experience.

We have had no shortage of scoundrel adventures taking place in the lawless galaxy far, far away. But there is more fun to have in the universe than pew-pewing the Empire and hunting bounties.

The real fun is nicking the speeders at full gas and seeing them go boom. After decades of waiting for a racer, you can live the chaotic racing scenes from the universe and a lot more in the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Racer.

All that said, here are the platforms on which Star Wars: Galactic Racer will release.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).

The pre-orders for all platforms are already live, and you can choose between Standard and Deluxe editions or the much more expensive physical Collector's Edition.

Now that we're closer to next gen than the start of the previous, most titles no longer support older hardware. Star Wars: Galactic Racer will also be current-gen exclusive and won't launch on PS4 and Xbox One.

Is Star Wars: Galactic Racer Coming To Nintendo Switch 2?

No, Star Wars: Galactic Racer will not be available on Nintendo Switch 2, at least not on launch. There are no rumors or hints as to whether the title is even planned to be ported over to Nintendo's handheld.

The handheld is no stranger to old and new Star Wars titles. Ubisoft's current-gen exclusive Star Wars Outlaws found its way to Nintendo Switch 2 and fares well. The classic Star Wars Episode I Racer was also ported to the console years ago.

So, we wouldn't count out a future port yet. Given the Outlaws' and many other AAA releases, it is more about priorities for Fuse Games than just hardware capabilities.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that suggests that a port as such is in the works. We will be sure to update you if a Nintendo Switch 2 version is announced.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Steam Deck Status

Any title available on Steam is playable on the Steam Deck (except for some with anti-cheat). That theoretically means Star Wars: Galactic Racer can be booted on Steam Deck without official support.

Fortunately, in their initial reveal FAQ, developers did confirm Steam Deck support, claiming the game is "great on Steam Deck as it will deliver a great 30 frames per second high-fidelity racing experience."

So, you should spare all worries about playing the racer on the Steam Deck. We will have to wait to see if it gets deck verified status and whether it lives up to the billed performance.

That's everything about the platforms for Star Wars: Galactic Racer and details on handhelds. The game releases on October 6th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
