The wait for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is finally over. Three years after the game’s announcement, KT Racing has lifted the bonnet with 30 minutes of actual gameplay footage. Sadly, the presentation also confirmed TDUSC has been delayed until 2024. But there’s a silver lining: a Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown beta is coming soon.
During TDU Connect, Nacon revealed how players can experience TDUSC early.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown beta coming soon
Nacon announced the first Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown beta will start on 24 July. This will be a closed beta, meaning you’ll need to receive an invite to join. The beta will last three days from 24-26 July.
Platforms are yet to be confirmed, but we’re hoping Nacon will host an open beta for more players closer to release. Beta testing is important for an online-focused game like TDUSC to test the servers and ensure a smooth online experience in the final game.
To be in with a chance of getting into the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown beta, you need to sign up for the Test Drive Unlimited newsletter here. If accepted, you’ll then receive an invite to the beta via email.
Exactly what the beta will include is a mystery, so it’s unclear if Hong Kong Island will have restricted areas or if the entire map is open. We expect players will also get to join clans and experience TDUSC’s social features.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown officially delayed
Unfortunately, the rumours of TDUSC suffering a delay were true. Originally expected to release later this year, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is set to release in early 2024. An exact release date is yet to be confirmed.
However, a Nacon financial document lists TDUSC with a Q1 release in February or March 2024. It seems, then, that TDUSC is still on track to release in the 2023 financial year.
