Turbo Golf Racing took the golf world by storm in 2022, but only if you owned a PC or Xbox. After nearly two years, however, Turbo Golf Racing is finally making its way to PlayStation.
Driving the links
Turbo Golf Racing answers the question: what happens if you mix golf with Rocket League? Rocket-powered cars blast around the links, with the aim being to finish each hole the fastest. Points are awarded based on time, with the highest-scoring player after three holes crowned the winner.
Up to eight players can hit the course at once, creating a chaotic mishmash of cars and giant golf balls flying everywhere. Powerups dotted around each hole, combined with your preselected ability, also add to the action.
Since the game launched in August 2022, Turbo Golf Racing has only been available on PC via Steam Early Access, or on Xbox Game Preview. The Xbox version of the game is available on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, opening the door for last-gen players to hit the fairways.
Until now, PlayStation players have felt a little left out, but that’s all about to change.
Turbo Golf Racing coming soon to PlayStation 5
Hugecalf Studios, the team behind Turbo Golf Racing, has announced that the game will soon be coming to PlayStation 5. An exact date is yet to be confirmed, but it’s been suggested that the PlayStation version of the game will launch alongside the full release in Q2 2024.
This puts the PS5 release sometime between April and June this year, perfect for those who want to kick back over the summer and tear up some greens in a super-boosted car.
The announcement only confirms a PlayStation 5 version of Turbo Golf Racing, so it appears as though PS4 players will still be missing out on this one. There’s also no mention of whether the PS5 version will have cross-platform play with PC and Xbox.
