Where can I buy iRacing?

iRacing is one of the most popular racing simulators on the market. It's been out for over a decade now and still going strong.

It's never too late to join the iRacing hype train either, but where do you buy the game from? Well, it wouldn't be iRacing if it was like all the other racing sims to buy.

Here's how to get iRacing on your PC!

You technically don't "buy" it

For a start, iRacing is a PC-exclusive game, so you'll need to own a decent gaming computer to be able to run the game. Console gamers won't be able to find a digital nor physical copy of iRacing for their systems, this game is PC-only.

GOTTA GO FASTER: iRacing needs a powerful gaming PC to be able to run on maximum settings

Unlike most PC games these days, you don't head over to Steam or another online retailer to purchase this game. You don't buy iRacing at all, you subscribe to it. You need to head over to either Steam or the iRacing website and go to memberships/ subscriptions.

There, you'll find all the info you need in terms of what is available to you.

For new players, there is an offer that starts you out at £8.99 per month before increasing to £12.99 per month after that. Alternatively, there are also options to pay for six or 12 months at a time, which work out cheaper per month.

If you go via the iRacing website, the costs are a lot cheaper, because they're in USD rather than GBP. In fact, the cheapest per month option of them all is that for two years, which costs $120 or around £80. That works out at less than £4 per month, not a bad deal when you think about it.

These offers are subject to change, but at the time of writing, these are the options available to gamers for iRacing for both Steam and the iRacing website:

Is iRacing worth the cost?

iRacing's financial value is a questionable one because it has such a unique pay package option. iRacing is more akin to Netflix and Amazon Prime in how gamers latch onto the service rather than other racing sims like Forza and Gran Turismo.

OUT IN FRONT: iRacing may be more expensive than some other games, but it is one of the best

Rather than making a one-time investment of £50 or so on a new game, you effectively continually pay a fee to iRacing. That makes the cost of iRacing more expensive than any other racing simulator. However, it's not that simple, because the sheer amount of content you're able to enjoy is continuously being expanded.

What's more, we named iRacing as one of the best racing games of all-time last year and we stand by that claim. Another aspect as well is that you can stop your subscription when you want, so if you don't enjoy iRacing, you can leave, rather than being stuck with a game you don't want.
