Will Forza Horizon 5 have Crossplay?

Forza Horizon 5 was revealed at Microsoft's presentation during E3 last week. We absolutely love Forza Horizon and are so glad it's coming to the next-gen Xbox console. One feature we've not heard much about though, is Crossplay.

Crossplay (a.k.a. Cross-platform play) allows players on different consoles to compete against each other in the same lobby. So, with Horizon 5 being available on three consoles, Crossplay should make a return. Let's see what the official word has been from Playground games though.

No official word... yet

With both the Xbox One and Series X having Horizon 5 available, as well as PC, you'd expect there to be some Crossplay. After all, playing with your friends is a huge part of the Forza Horizon experience and that will continue with Horizon 5.

Furthermore, both Forza Horizon 3 and 4 had crossplay enabled between PC and the Xbox One. For Horizon 4 too, this included players on Steam as well. So, with Horizon 5 being available on three consoles, crossplay should be making a return.

We've often pondered when Crossplay will become a industry standard for racing games, but the feature has already made itself a home on Forza Horizon.

That means that if you haven't yet been lucky enough to get your hands on one of the new Xbox Series consoles nor a powerful enough gaming PC, you can still play against your friends that have been fortunate enough.

There is a chance that only Series X and PC will have crossplay enabled between each other, but that's unlikely given how big the emphasis is on interconnectivity and playing with your friends.

So, in short, while Crossplay hasn't been officially confirmed yet, it will more than likely play at least some part in Horizon 5. Playground games will likely release some more gameplay trailers closer to the November release date which show off Crossplay capabilities of Horizon 5.
