WRC Generations early access not working on Xbox

WRC Generations launches tomorrow for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. However, players who pre-ordered the Fully Loaded Edition can access the game two days early.

It hasn't been a smooth launch on Xbox, however, with players unable to load the game and get early access.

Update: KT Racing has announced WRC Generations early access should now work on Xbox for players who pre-ordered the Fully Loaded Edition.

"Xbox players are now starting (it can take a few minutes for everyone) to have access to #WRCGenerations if they pre-purchased the Fully Loaded Edition," a post on the official WRC game Twitter page reads. "We can't apologise enough for the time it took to resolve the issue."

WRC Generations early access not working on Xbox

The WRC Generations Fully Loaded edition gives players two days early access on 1 November ahead of the wide release on 3 November.

In addition, the Fully Loaded Edition comes with extra DLC including Sebastien Loeb's Citroen C4 WRC, two Liveries for Romain Dumas' Porsche 911 GT3 RS RGT, and bonus items for the livery editor. You also get three free months to WRC+ All Live and a Career Starter Pack.

The Fully Loaded Edition was supposed to unlock yesterday morning for players on all platforms. However, players are reporting it isn’t loading on Xbox platforms after downloading the game.

KT Racing is aware of this issue and is working with Microsoft to find a solution. Yesterday, the developer told players unable to load the Fully Loaded Edition to visit the Xbox page of the game and click on “GET” to download the game.

Unfortunately, this solution isn’t working.

“As we are back at work this morning, we understand that the solution hasn't worked,” a post on the official WRC game Twitter page reads. “We are once again working with our colleagues at Microsoft for a solution.”

At the time of writing, the WRC Generations Fully Loaded Edition still isn’t working on Xbox over 24 hours after it was supposed to launch.

Suffice to say, players are understandably frustrated with the situation after paying extra to get early access. Some angry players are already asking for refunds. Microsoft may need to offer some form of compensation as this appears to be an Xbox-specific issue.

We’ll update this story if KT Racing announces any updates on the situation.
