Wreckreation will officially launch on October 28, 2025, five years after it was unveiled. The game was pitched as a follow-up to the popular title, Dangerous Driving. After five long years, fans will finally be able to experience the highly anticipated title.

What Platforms Will Wreckreation Be On?

Wreckreation will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam) at the time of launch. The title may arrive at further platforms in the future, but nothing has been officially said about that.

The game was previously intended to be released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but as the development cycle progressed, and current-gen consoles became the standard, THQ Nordic decided to move away from that and focus on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Wreckreation will be available in both digital and physical formats, costing $39.99/€39.99 for both.

This game will also not be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as developers are moving towards current consoles. The game will launch both digitally and physically for $39.99/€39.99.

What is Wreckreation?

Wreckreation is an open-world racing game where speed, stunts, and creativity are king. The game offers a massive 400 square kilometer environment for players to explore, race, and build in.

To build their own race tracks and alter the surroundings in real time, players can collaborate with friends online. By enabling you to drop ramps, jumps, curves, and other environmental hazards in the middle of a race, this feature, named Live Mix, makes every race an exciting spectacle.

Other variables like weather, time of day, and traffic density can also be changed on the fly, creating endless replayability and unpredictability.

Key Features

  • Massive Open World: 400 square kilometers of roads, landscapes, and hidden areas to discover.
  • Live Mix “Game DJ”: Create and edit tracks in real time while players race.
  • Dynamic Conditions: Change weather, time of day, and traffic density mid-session.
  • Classic Crash Action: Outlandish car wrecks and explosive impacts reminiscent of Burnout.
  • Multiplayer Mayhem: Build, race, and crash with friends online.

What Can Fans Expect?

Burnout fans will immediately recognize the DNA here that includes high-speed chases, spectacular crashes, and a focus on arcade-style fun. However, Wreckreation takes one step further by enabling participants to remix the actual world, giving every race the impression of a live event.

The latest teaser reveals a sophisticated, chaotic eraser that appeals to both professional and casual racers. The game appears to be the answer to your goal of creating a track, like the ones in your imagination, and then racing on it right away.
