This week sees the release of theAssetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC. Over the last few weeks, Kunos Simulazioni has been drip-feeding new car announcements for the DLC. Fans were wondering if the DLC pack will also include a new track to race the GT2 cars on – and we now have the answer.
Red Bull Ring coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione this week
In a surprise announcement, Kunos Simulazioni has confirmed that the iconic Red Bull Ring is coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione as part of the GT2 Pack DLC. Home of the Austrian Grand Prix, the 2.7-mile circuit set in the Austrian mountains completes the GT2 Pack DLC.
With its mix of long high-speed straights and challenging corners, Red Bull Ring is an enjoyable circuit to drive and a welcome addition to Assetto Corsa Competizione’s track list.
With the Red Bull Ring completing the DLC, we now know the full GT2 Pack DLC car list:
- Audi R8 LMS GT2
- KTM X-Bow GT2
- Maserati MC20 GT2
- Mercedes-AMG GT2
- Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
- Porsche 935
That’s six cars in total, with the Brabham BT63 GT2 and Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo GT2 noticeably absent from the DLC pack. With Brabham Automotive closing down earlier this year, the BT63 GT2 and its BT62 road car sibling are no longer in production. This likely explains why Brabham isn’t appearing in the DLC.
The Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC will be available to buy on Steam on 24 January, with pricing to be confirmed. A console release date is also yet to be confirmed, but ACC DLC packs usually arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S a few months after the initial PC release.
Nurburgring coming in Spring
Red Bull Ring will be the first new track added to Assetto Corsa Competizione in nearly a year since the Circuit Ricardo Tormo was included in the GT World Challenge DLC. It’s not the only world-famous circuit coming to ACC this year, however, with the demanding Nurburgring Nordschleife set to arrive this Spring.
With Assetto Corsa 2 also set to arrive this Spring, it’s a great time to be a fan of Kunos Simulazioni’s racing simulation series.
