After a slew of teasers last week, Ubisoft has lifted the wraps off The Crew Motorfest Season 2. The latest season brings 24 new cars, a new playlist, and a brand-new map area to explore on the tropical island of Oahu. For fans of The Crew Motorfest and Hoonigan, there’s much to be excited about.
New cars
The Crew Motorfest Season 2 brings 24 new vehicles throughout 14 themed weeks. These include the iconic Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX and Lamborghini SC20. Built by Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse division, the SC20 boasts the most powerful engine produced by Lamborghini, with a naturally aspirated V12 rated at 770 hp.
Notably, The Crew Motorfest will be the only console and PC racing game the Lamborghini SC20 has appeared in outside of Forza Horizon 5.
A Gymkahana-inspired playground
The real stars, however, are a selection of custom cars created by Hoonigan. Co-founded by the late Ken Block, Hoonigan is best known for the tyre-shredding Gymkhana series.
Season 2 lets you burn rubber in several iconic Hoonican cars including the Ford Hoonicorn Mustang and the Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron starring in Electrikhana 2, the last Gymkhana video filmed before Ken Block’s tragic death premiering this month. Ubisoft promises “many other surprises,” one of which is likely to be the 914-hp Hoonitruck from Climbkhana 2 teased in a video last week.
You’ll be honing these cars around a new map area teased last week. Dubbed the Gymkhana Grid Park, the new playground is fairly large and filled with stunt ramps, drift zones, and half pipes to practice your stunt driving skills. Furthermore, the Drift Experience Playlist is getting a Volume 2, doubling the number of drift challenges.
Although all Season 2 events can be accessed for free, Year 1 Pass owners will get exclusive early access to some of the new Hoonigan cars. Each chapter of the Gymkhana Grid Masters playlist will be introduced by none other than Hoonigan’s co-founder Brian Scotto.
"Hoonigan is stoked on our collaboration with Ubisoft Ivory Tower for The Crew Motorfest,” said Scotto. “We've whipped up some exclusive content and hope you all like to play through this season as much as we do. Good times and even better rides!"
In addition, The Crew Motorfest Season 2 brings a plethora of quality-of-life improvements, including an option to switch off the annoying Cara AI assistant much to the collective relief of Motorfest players. You can find out more details in the Season 2 patch notes.
