Hot on the heels of Update 1.09 comes the first F1 22 Driver Ratings update!
We are more than halfway through the season now and nearly two months on from the release of F1 22, so it's about time Codemasters gave the drivers a fresh set of ratings.
Let's see who is up and who is down!
Champion's charge
Max Verstappen has been the class of the field so far in 2022 and has a massive 80-point lead in the World Drivers' Championship.
Thanks to his sensational performances he has seen his Awareness go up two, and his Pace go up by one.
As a result, Max now stands alone at the top with an Overall of 95!
Russell on the rise
George Russell has been remarkably competitive and super-consistent this season.
He grabbed his first pole position at Hungary despite Mercedes' general lack of pace over one lap.
He's bagged five podiums, and while he is yet to really challenge for a win the pace is clearly there. As a result his Racecraft has gone up by four, his pace by two, and his experience by one. That big Silverstone crash has had an impact though, as his awareness has dropped by two.
Still, it gives him a +2 to his Overall, moving him to 92.
Lacklustre Leclerc
This is definitely a harsh one, given that most of Leclerc's issues have stemmed from his team rather than his driving. However, his France crash and the rise of Carlos Sainz has been an issue too.
Leclerc sees his Awareness drop by one and for some reason his Pace drop by three. The one-point gain on Experience can't prevent a -1 to his Overall, taking him to 91.
Ricciard-wow
With his future in doubt it wouldn't be a surprise to see Daniel Ricciardo get nerfed in this rating update, but somehow his Overall has gone UP by one.
Codemasters has crushed his Awareness, dropping it by a huge nine points to 84 but have somehow given his Pace a +2...
This comes with +1 to both his Experience and his Racecraft in what is surely the most bizarre part of this update.
