Forza Horizon jumped on the battle royale bandwagon with the introduction of The Eliminator mode in Forza Horizon 4. It returned in Forza Horizon 5, but a user on GTPlanet has discovered The Eliminator may be expanded with a new Duos mode in a future update.
Forza Horizon 5 Duos Battle Royale mode found in audio files
While searching through the game files on PC, GTPlanet user TGR55 discovered audio files referencing a new battle royale mode called Duels. Based on dialogue in the audio files, it sounds like FH5 is getting a new team-based battle royale mode similar to Duos modes in other battle royale games.
According to TRG55, you can revive your teammate's car within a time limit if they are eliminated. If you get eliminated and can't be revived, you can spectate your teammate.
It’s believed there will also be new eliminator cars and a new levelling system offering rewards such as custom liveries for eliminator cars, different starter cars, and player avatar outfits. It also looks like players can pin car drops to make them visible to teammates.
Ramiro can be heard referring to the Eliminati Series – this is likely the name of a future Forza Horizon 5 series after Playground ditched numbered series.
When will Forza Horizon 5 Eliminati Series release?
It’s not known when Forza Horizon 5’s new Duels Battle Royale mode will be released. It probably won't be in the next series as the Horizon 10th Anniversary series celebrates the original Forza Horizon's tenth anniversary.
A new Donut Media Horizon Story is also expected to arrive later this year, so the Eliminati Series will likely start in November in December just in time for the Christmas holiday.
