Forza Horizon 5: Hotfix adresses Winter Wonderland glitches

Winter has well and truly arrived in Forza Horizon 5. Sadly, so have the bugs and glitches. After several players reported experiencing issues with the game, a hotfix has been released to address the problems.

Not so wonderful

Week 2 of Forza Horizon 5’s Winter Wonderland playlist saw multiple players report issues with the game. By far the worst was players having to sit through the seasonal change load screen every time they launch the game.

The game would also soft-lock after the Winter Seasonal intro screen, during load screens between races, when loading back into Freeroam, and even when entering or leaving Horizon Outposts or the Autoshow. Even if the game didn’t soft lock, crashes were frequent.

There were also issues with the game not registering any control inputs after loading into Freeroam, with a noticeable audio lag when inputting controls. These issues were causing the latest Forza Horizon 5 season to be not-so-wonderful.

Fixing winter

Thankfully, Playground Games has released a hotfix to address these issues. In particular, the Winter Seasonal animation constantly playing has been fixed, as has the soft lock and crashing issues after the intro has played.

In addition, the update also fixes the lack of control input in Freeroam. An issue where players taking part in the Lucha De Carreteras Story event were blocked by Winter Wonderland decorations should also be resolved.

• Fixed an issue where Winter Wonderland Stadium decorations are present in Lucha De Carreteras Story blocking progress
• Fixed an issue where the Winter Seasonal animation is playing at every boot of the game
• Reduced client crashes caused after the Winter Seasonal Intro
• Fixed an issue where, on certain occasions, no controls were registered after entering Freeroam
