The beloved racing simcade game will no longer be available to purchase from the Microsoft Store or to download via Game Pass.

When will Forza Motorsport 7 reach End of Life?

Players will be able to purchase Forza Motorsport 7 up until the 15th of September. The game will be heavily discounted up until that date before being removed from the Microsoft Store. DLC will also be unavailable to purchase.

Players who already own Forza Motorsport 7 will still be able to download and play the game beyond the End of Life date.

Game Pass and DLC

If you've bought DLC for Forza Motorsport 7 but play it through the Game Pass, Microsoft has thought of you.

You will receive a token for the game through the Xbox Message Center so that you can continue playing Forza Motorsport 7. This will arrive before the 2nd of August.

Tokens will expire two years after the End of Life date, which gives you plenty of time to decide to come back to Forza Motorsport 7 should you need that fix!

Does this mean the sequel is on the way?

The next game in the Forza Motorsport series, confirmed to be titled Forza Motorsport, was announced in 2020. The release is not expected until 2022.

Forza Horizon 5 will be released before the next Motorsport iteration

Traditionally, Motorsport and Horizon releases have appeared in alternate years. Forza Horizon 5 will however be released in November, before the next Motorsport iteration.

Will multiplayer still function after End of Life?

Microsoft have confirmed that multiplayer and online services will keep running as usual at this time. Esports competitions will still be supported. You can expect to be able to race your friends likely until the next release.
