How to change controller settings in Gran Turismo 7

Mastering the controls is all part of the learning curve in GT7. Thankfully, GT7 lets you customise the controls to your personal preference. Here’s how to change the controller settings in Gran Turismo 7.

All you need to do is go to the GT Menu by pressing the GT logo in the top left corner of the World Map.

In this menu, press R1 to scroll to Controllers and select Wireless Controller 1P. From here, you’re presented with a map of the controls on the DualShock 4 or DualSense. Each button can then be individually reassigned.

For example, you can change the button map for the camera view, shifting gears, or applying the handbrake. You can even go old-school and remap the acceleration and brake buttons to the cross and square buttons respectively if you want to.

However, we prefer using the triggers to accelerate and brake as this offers more precision. It also means you can take advantage of GT7’s DualSense technology, allowing you to feel the surface of the road and the roar of the engine.  

If you’re using a wheel, select your specific wheel from the list in the Controllers menu. You can remap each button using the same method as the DualShock 4 and DualSense controller.
