After a bit of blowback for having tuning in Sport Mode, GT7 has bought back Balance of Performance, but what is the best Gr.3 car in Gran Turismo 7?
While BoP will limit power and balance out weight to make all cars as similar as possible, some cars are still stronger than others. This is especially true for the Gr.3 category.
With Gr.3 appearing nearly every week in the Daily Races, having the right car is crucial.
Not all built the same
You would think that Polyphony could make all the cars the same. After all, F1 2021 manages this on Equal Performance mode. That basically makes every car a Mercedes with another teams livery on top.
That is not the case in GT7. With front-, mid-, and rear-engine cars it is impossible to make them identical. You can't make the handling the same for everything either.
Even with BoP on the BMW M6 remains an absolute boat in the corners and the 911 is tail-happy.
So with all that said, what is the best Gr.3 car for Sport Mode races at the moment?
Best Gr.3 car
While some players may want to run the iconic Supra GT500 '97, the best car to take to those BoP Gr.3 races is actually the Peugeot RCZ.
Coming in at 450,000 Credits, this MR car has 520 BHP and weighs in at 1,200 kg.
This doesn't sound like much, but when BoP is implemented the car stays EXACTLY the same. That means you can practice all day in it and go racing with a car that feels just the same.
It's also a remarkably better deal than other Gr.3 cars under BoP.
That Castrol Tom's Supra drops to 492 BHP at 1,210 kg. The Audi R8 LMS Evo '19 hits 490 BHP and 1,270 kg.
So if you want to take on the world at the Brands Hatch Daily Race that is available right now, then the Peugeot RCZ is the car for you!
