In the years since GTA V released, the ability to customise your lead character has skyrocketed in gaming.
From picking your genetalia in Cyberpunk 2077 to the wild popularity of the female leads in the Assassin's Creed series, it has become the norm to at least pick between a male & female lead in your triple-A games now.
The latest rumour is that this concept could be coming to GTA 6.
Female protagonist in GTA 6
This is entirely unconfirmed by Rockstar, and as with all these GTA 6 rumours you should take them with a pinch of salt.
However, trusted industry expert Tom Henderson, CEO of Viral Junkie, has stated that there will be female protagonist in GTA 6.
Given that GTA V had three protagonists that you could move between controlling, this might not be the classic decision before you start.
That move often stilts character development, as dialogue and decisions have to make sense to both male & female characters, however if Rockstar goes down the GTA V route then they could retain their strong character work of previous games.
GTA 6 location
There are also some new theories around the location of GTA 6, which could be a return to an old favourite... Vice City!
The latest rumours are that the game will split between Florida and Mexico, with Vice City being central to the Florida gameplay.
GTA 6 release date
While everyone is very excited about GTA 6, it isn't even officially released yet. With GTA Online still raking in cash for Rockstar they don't seem to be in any hurry to get a new title on the shelves.
We don't expect the game to arrive before 2022, and even that could be a stretch.
Remember, until Rockstar releases any information these are all just rumous, as cool as they might be to see come to life!
