EPOS H3: Premium features for affordable prices!

Gaming peripherals are a huge part of any setup. In fact, for many, audio is one of the most critical components.

So, with headsets reaching ever higher prices and features being locked behind increasing paywalls, is there a cheaper alternative?

We think there is, let's take a look now!

The EPOS H3

The headset is manufactured by EPOS, the gaming audio section of Sennheiser, meaning there won't be any shortcuts taken.

Having used the headset for a little over two weeks, I can wholeheartedly agree with that. It sounds phenomenal!

The headset is compatible with all current and last-gen consoles as well as PC, so there aren't any worries there either.

Similarly, the headset is a plug-and-play headset, meaning you won't have to mess around with any software. Perfect if you're just looking to jump straight back into your races.

Audio

Being the most vital component of a headset, it's important that the audio at least matches the price.

However, coming in at just under £90, I would say that the audio outperforms the price.

It's important to remember as well that this is brand new and comes with a 2-year warranty. So, while you may be able to find better headsets secondhand, why take the risk?

The audio is incredibly clear, and the 20-20,000 Hz frequency response delivers a huge range of sound.

I tried the headset in a number of sim titles, and it sounds amazing.

Similarly, the microphone is very impressive for an integrated headset mic, so there's not a single complaint there!

Comfort

As someone who works from home for RacingGames and also likes to game in the evenings, I spent hours with the headset on.

Not once did it feel uncomfortable, and there aren't many headsets that are comfortable after 9 or 10 hours.

The H3 would be perfect for endurance racing in that regard, but also to put on for a bit of hotlapping.

The Verdict

So, the EPOS is less than £90, boasts an incredible soundstage, and is comfortable.

Honestly, the headset is a real contender for its price point, and I'd urge any of you to consider it.
