Since first hitting the stores in 1997, Gran Turismo has secured a reputation for being one of the most successful video games of all time. Among other milestones, over 90 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide! The developers, Polyphony Digital, have released several serials of this game, with Gran Turismo 7 being the latest. This one was released in March 2022 and is still one of the most prominent games on the PlayStation console. Gran Turismo 7

GT 7 was the first game in the series to be playable on two platforms: PS 4 & PS 5. When this game was released on March 4, 2022, the reviews were mostly positive. The game improved in the graphics and gameplay segment and also brought back the single-player and simulation modes. Over time, several updates have been made to this game. Let's check out the most recent ones.

Update 1.36

This update was on the 7th of August, 2023, and brought with it a batch of new cars namely; Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58, the Maserati MC20 '20, the Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition '22, and the Toyota Ambulance Himedic '2. A new livery was also created for the Nissan GTR Nismo GT3 '18.

Four World Circuits were also updated with new events. These are;

  • Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta; American Sunday Cup 600
  • Dragon Trail; HyperCar Parade
  • Red Bull Ring; HyperCar Parade
  • High-Speed Ring; World Touring Car 800

There were also three new additions to the GT Café and many more novel features.

Update 1.38

This was the whopping sixteenth update to the GT 7 title, and as you would expect, it came with many goodies. There were three new cars added to the fold; the Honda Civic Type R (FL5) '22, Garage RCR Civic, Mazda3 GR.4. You'll also get to use new liveries created for three Mazda cars; the Mazda RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT, the Mazda Atenza Gr.4, and finally, the Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) '22. The Cafe was updated with two extra menus, and you'll find new races in the following world circuits.

  • Grand Valley - Highway 1; Race of Turbo Sportscars
  • Dragon Trail; Race of Turbo Sportscars
  • Mount Panorama; World Touring Car 700

There were also other interesting updates like new conversations with the car designers. To access this, you just have to change your cars to get your chance to converse with the designers.

Update 1.39

Despite being sorely needed, this update was not expected by the players just yet. However, since it has come, it's all plus and no minus for GT gamers. Since the last update (1.38), there have been bugs causing the game to freeze at the worst time. Thankfully, this new update addresses those bugs.

  • Porsche Cup: Round 5
