We managed to get our hands on a preview build of Hot Wheels Unleashed, and we're here to tell you all about it.

With everything from incredible tracks to cars that you likely owned in real-life, the game has it all.

So, let's jump in and take a closer look now at the nostalgia trip of a lifetime!

Gameplay

There are a few factors which affect the way a game plays, so we're going to address each of those here.

Firstly, the physics. We were told that the physics reflect the full release version of the game, and we're excited to hear that. Each car felt different, and reacted differently on the various surfaces in the game, making for an awesome driving experience.

Secondly, the racing was brilliant. The AI are still being tuned, so will likely be even more refined come full release, but we had a blast and some close battles when we were playing!

Graphics

The game also looks incredible, with the large arenas displaying awesome shadows and huge detail.

The same goes for the cars, and you wouldn't be crazy to think you were watching video of a Go-Pro magically floating behind your Hot Wheel of choice.

All of this helps add to the immersion, that you really are racing amongst the toys you owned when you were younger on a track you built yourself!

Cars and Tracks

We had a variety of tracks and cars to choose from, but not quite what we'll receive in the full version of Hot Wheels Unleashed.

There were 28 cars and 9 different tracks, so still more than enough to give us a taste of what's to come.

Each track and location felt perfectly unique from each other, so that the racing experience never felt 'same'-y. All-in-all, the cars and tracks helped add to an awesome title to play!

Release date

The game launches this year on 27 September.

This means that wannabe players only have another 3 months to wait before they can get their hands on the game for themselves!
