After last week’s update improved the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the fourth iRacing 2022 Season 1 patch is available to download. It’s a relatively light update, but it does add a slew of updates for the NASCAR Next Gen cars to match the 2022 NASCAR season.
Let's find out what's new in the latest iRacing 2022 Season 1 update.
NASCAR Next Gen Cars updated in iRacing
Reflecting 2022 NASCAR season specifications, the latest update applies several changes to iRacing’s NASCAR Next Gen Class Cars.
As part of the update, all three NASCAR Next Gen Cars have been updated with new vehicle models, textures, damage parameters, and driver animations. The setups are also updated, while front and rear springs “may no longer coil bind.” The newly updated NASCAR Next Gen Cars arrive ahead of this weekend’s Daytona 500 race.
Last year, the NASCAR Next Gen Car debuted in iRacing ahead of its competition debut earlier this month at the LA Memorial Coliseum exhibition race. Updated for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series, the Next Gen Car boasts a redesigned chassis, independent rear suspension, and a sequential transmission.
In addition, the NASCAR Xfinity class cars have been updated with new branding, textures, and decals to match the 2022 NASCAR season specifications.
The LA Memorial Coliseum also benefits from more accurate grip levels “to better match real-world data that now exists” and an issue in Mount Washington Auto Road that caused the game to crash has now been fixed.
