With Season 7 wrapping up, Rocket League Season 8 has been revealed. In contrast to the last season's luxury theme, Season 8 is all about tuner car culture in the absence of Need for Speed 2022. Launching on 7 September, Rocket League Season 8 includes a new Arena, Competitive Season, and Rocket Pass.
Rocket Pass
For the first time, the Rocket Pass Premium includes a real-world licensed car: the Honda Civic Type R, which will be available in Octane Hitbox spec.
Levelling up the Rocket Pass Tiers unlocks the track-focused Honda Civic Type R-LE, which boasts a bigger front intake, carbon fibre hood, and rear wing. The Civic Type R-LE can also be fitted with the original white and red Honda Civic Type R wheels.
An underglow effect is also added automatically when using a painted version of the Honda Civic Type R or Honda Civic Type R-LE unlocked at Tier 70 and above.
Sticking with the street racing theme, new items include a Sprattle Boost, Big Cap Topper, and Savage Spray Goal Explosion, while new cosmetics include the Dumpster Fire Player Banner, Wrapstar Decal, and Franko Fone Wheels.
Sovereign Heights Arena
Season 8 also brings a new night-time urban arena: Sovereign Heights. New Tournament Rewards in Season 8 include the Sk8s Player Banner and Hibachi Topper. There will also be a new Black Market Tournament Reward: the Starliner Decal and Amplitude Goal Explosion.
A new Hoops Arena will be added later in the season, while the annual Haunted Hallows is set to return in October for Halloween.
Release date
Rocket League Season 8 kicks off on 7 September, following a game update on 6 September.
