Yesterday's server outage for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown stretched to seven hours, and by the time they came back online there was some more bad news for players. Season 1 has been delayed.
The first season was meant to go live this week but has been pushed back to October 2. This delay is yet another blow to fans of the game, who are already being tested by the rocky state of the game in its first few weeks.
Player reaction has been universally negative, with fans responding to the official announcement on X with disbelief and disappointment.
The two-week delay isn't enormous. KT Racing stated: "To better prepare for the first official season of Solar Crown Live, we have decided to postpone its launch to October 2nd. This will also allow us to release our first major patch a few days before the season begins, ensuring optimal conditions for everyone."
But it is yet another piece of negative news for a game that could use a positive. Having released to mixed reviews and plenty of upset fans, the discourse around Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been bleak.
Games have made roaring comebacks from worse, but racing games get a short leash these days before players abandon them. As fun as TDUSC is to cruise around and explore, it can't survive for long with such overwhelming negativity from its core audience.
