Kunos Simulazioni has been gradually confirming cars for Assetto Corsa Competizione’s upcoming GT2 Pack DLC over the last few weeks. With the DLC getting closer to release, the car reveals continue with the lightweight KTM X-Bow GT2.
KTM X-Bow GT2 coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione
While the Austrian firm is better known for making motorcycles, KTM has been building the X-Bow sports car since 2008. The GT2 is the most extreme variant yet.
Powered by a 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine used in the Audi RS3 producing 600 hp, sent to the rear wheels through a sequential six-speed transmission, Austria’s KTM X-Bow GT2 is a formidable track weapon.
Its lightweight, aerodynamic body is built on top of a carbon fibre monocoque chassis. While the GT2 is restricted to the racetrack, KTM also builds a road-legal version known as the X-Bow GT-XR.
The KTM X Bow GT2 is the fifth car confirmed for the GT2 Pack DLC following the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Porsche 935, Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS EVO Kit, and Maserati MC20 GT2.
We’re expecting at least three more cars to be revealed to complete the GT2 series lineup: the Brabham BT63 GT2, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo GT2, and Mercedes-AMG GT2.
Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC set for January release
Assetto Corsa Competizione’s GT2 Pack DLC is set for a January release, but the exact release date is yet to be confirmed. We expect Kunos will announce the release date once the full car list is confirmed. Pricing is also unknown and it remains to be seen if DLC will also add a new track.
If not, ACC players won’t have to wait long to race on a new track, with the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife joining the track roster this Spring. 2024 is shaping up to be a seminal year for the series, with Assetto Corsa 2 (the final title hasn’t been announced) expected to launch in Early Access on Steam this Summer.
