Assetto Corsa EVO update 0.7 is finally here, introducing new cars, new particle effects, a brand-new multiplayer safety rating system, and the highly anticipated editor tool.
KUNOS Simulazioni considers this a "strategic update", as it continues to push the game forward by adding important new features and improving already existing ones.
Four New Cars and a New Rating System Arrive at Assetto Corsa EVO

Assetto Corsa EVO update 0.7 introduces four new cars to the game: Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, Datsun 240Z, Porsche 935, and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo Kit.
According to KUNOS Simulazioni, these four new cars give players "a mix of cultural icons and machines built to win." It expands the already rich Assetto Corsa EVO garage, offering players more iconic cars to choose from.
But that's not all, as a new multiplayer safety rating system has also been added. The EVO SR "measures and rewards the presence of close and clean racing", with players increasing their rating by racing close to other vehicles without touching them.
Those who contact other cars will be penalized, with contacts being read from the in-game impact data. The severity of the contact will also be calculated, as the loss of EVO SR scales based on its severity.
On the other hand, players who can avoid contact while still driving in proximity to other vehicles will be rewarded for it, seeing their EVO SR rating increase.
New Particle System Enriches the Visual Experience

As mentioned above, Assetto Corsa EVO update 0.7 introduces a new particle system, which adds smoke, dust, spray, and impact effects, improving the simulation experience as a whole.
This addition also enriches the visual experience, with dirt kicking up when the car starts, and tyre smoke correctly following the wheelspin.
Perhaps the most important one: car crashes are now "backed by dedicated impact effects that add weight and consequence to collisions", making any type of contact more realistic.
The ASSETTO CORSA EVO SDK App Is Here
Assetto Corsa EVO finally has an editor tool, and it comes in the form of the ASSETTO CORSA EVO SDK App. This app allows players to customize their cars and use them in single-player racing.
Future updates will allow these custom creations to hit the road in multiplayer modes. This tool uses similar technology to the one used by the developers at KUNOS Simulazioni.
This first iteration of the feature focuses on car model creation. Custom liveries and track customization are set to arrive in the future.
The goal is to make ASSETTO CORSA EVO a truly open, expandable, and long-living platform.
