V10 R-League Week 5 Preview: Do or die as group stages end

This Friday sees the final Group Stage matchday of the V10 R-League being played out.

There’s so much to play for in both groups A and B and we’re here to preview the action and run through the scenarios for each team in week five!

Yas Heat vs BMW

Friday 8th July – 1pm BST - WATCH LIVE

It’s a top v bottom match-up to get us started in Group A. Yas Heat need to match Williams’ result to get an automatic semi-final spot. BMW meanwhile, are already out, but perhaps having no pressure could help the German outfit.

On paper, this looks like an easy contest for YAS Heat, as they’ve won all three of their matches so far, while BMW have lost all three. Depending on what happens in the other Group A bout, Yas Heat could finish in third place, but that would require a BMW whitewash along with other results.

There’s no such thing as an easy battle in the V10 R-League though, so we’ll be watching this one with great interest.

R8G vs Williams

Friday 8th July – 3:30pm BST - WATCH LIVE

Second v third in Group A is a big contest as both teams, in theory, have the opportunity to finish top. They’d be relying on a favour from a mis-firing BMW team, but that possibility could spur both of them on.

Williams could finish top with a tie, but would likely require a win or whitewash to overtake Heat. R8G would need a perfect score to finish in first place overall, but both teams will be buoyed by no pressure from behind, as JAESA Suzuki aren’t racing this weekend.

This is poised to be a close tie and whoever wins will get a better draw for the wildcard match next week.

Fordzilla vs Aston Martin

Friday 8th July – 6pm BST - WATCH LIVE

It’s fifth v third in the first Group B game of our final group stage matchday. Aston Martin already have a wildcard spot booked, but could overtake Mercedes into second place. Leaders Redline are too far ahead though, even a whitewash wouldn’t see the green team top.

However, Aston have no pressure from behind, as Red Bull are already eliminated. Fordzilla have had another poor season, losing all of their matches so far. So, can they pull off a surprise win here? It’s certainly possible, but they’ve shown little signs of that this season.

Mercedes vs Redline

Friday 8th July – 8:30pm BST - WATCH LIVE

The final match of the Group Stage is between the top two in Group B. Redline will finish in the top two, but Mercedes could overtake them with a three-point swing. This is a huge matchday between two of the best teams of the Group Stage.

Mercedes need a good performance to top the group, as Redline would have to drop more points than they have in the previous three matches combined. Redline need to only score two points to finish top dogs in Group B and automatically qualify for the semi-finals.

No matter what happens, this will be an extremely entertaining battle, with some of the fastest esports drivers in the world going toe-to-toe.
