It's time for the new Horizon festival, but does Forza Horizon 5 have a city?
Forza Horizon 5 is just days away from release at the time of writing. This time the party will be in Mexico and we can't wait to get racing. But some have been looking at the map and asking us: does Forza Horizon 5 have a city?
Does Forza Horizon 5 have a city?
The world of Forza Horizon 5 is very different to the previous game. Instead of the fields and forests of Great Britain, we've got eleven distinct biomes. There's an enormous volcano, two very different coasts, jungle and desert areas.
The map is 50% larger than Forza Horizon 4, so everything is just on a bigger scale than previous games. Between Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Horizon 4 felt like more of an incremental change compared to this new edition. It looks like the map for the fifth in the series will blow everything previous out of the water.
Settlements on the map
The map for Forza Horizon 5 has a mixture of modern and ancient settlements. Sites such as the Avenue of the Dead and the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon at Teotihuacan look like they will be exciting to race around. There's also smaller locations such as Tulum and Mulege to discover.
You may also have spotted the Horizon Stadium near the centre of the map. This massive sports arena will be the location for user-created events. We've seen pre-release footage of anti-gravity pads and massive bowling pins to knock down!
The city in Forza Horizon 5
The city in Forza Horizon 5 is Guanajuato. This city is well-known in Mexico for its beautiful architecture and also the network of tunnels linking its streets. We'll be racing both above and under the ground in this amazing location!
Guanajuato is officially a World Heritage Site, so it would probably be frowned upon if we raced through there in real life. But in the world of Forza Horizon, we'll be able to tear up these streets in a huge selection of the world's greatest cars!
