Gran Turismo 7 is finally here, marking the return of the traditional single-player campaign that was notably absent in GT Sport. On the hardest difficulty setting, the AI opponents are challenging to beat. But does Gran Turismo 7 have split screen if you want to race with your friends? Find out right here.
Does Gran Turismo 7 have split screen?
If you want to race with your friends, you’ll be happy to know that Gran Turismo 7 has split screen. This used to be a staple of the genre, but split-screen multiplayer often missing in modern racing games. Thankfully, this is not the case in GT7.
However, accessing split screen in GT7 is not as easy as you might think.
How to unlock split screen
Gran Turismo 7 has an unusual structure. When you start the game, split screen is not available. To unlock split screen, you need to complete GT Café Menu 9: Tokyo Highway Parade at the GT Café by finishing in third place or above.
After completing the menu, a location for Multiplayer will appear on the World Map. Navigate to the bottom right of the World Map to access the multiplayer options.
You’ll be presented with two options: Lobby and 2P Split Screen. Select Lobby if you want to race online and 2P Split Screen if you want to have a local multiplayer race. From here, the player host can change the track, time of day and number of laps.
Up to two players can battle it out in a split-screen race, but you won’t earn credits to buy cars or upgrades.
