Latest news - Gran Turismo 7 update 1.36 adds four new cars

After skipping July, the latest GT7 monthly update has arrived. August's update adds four new cars, including the Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58, Maserati MC20 '20, Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition '22, and, bizarrely, the Toyota Ambulance Himedic '21. Only two of these are available immediately, however.

Players can also claim a free Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 '18 to celebrate the release of the Gran Turismo movie.

Getting started in GT7

When you open up GT7 you'll be handed 20,000 credits and tasked with buying a car.

The best starting car isn't easy to spot, but grabbing it is important. You'll want to take your starter car through a lot of races.

Unlocking Sport Mode

If you just want to play online and start grinding up your Driver Rating you still have to get through some of the campaign.

To unlock Sport Mode you need to complete a few of the GT Cafe menus. You'll also want to build your garage up before you really dive into online play!

Dynamic weather

One of Gran Turismo 7's biggest selling points is a truly dynamic weather cycle. This includes drying lines on the track, realistic cloud formations for where you are in the world, and even realistic night skies.

Unfortunately this is limited to the Japanese circuits and major European venues like Nurburgring, Red Bull Ring, and Spa.
