EA Sports WRC has been out for over a week for early-access players, but it hasnāt been a smooth launch. EAās new rally game launched in a rough state, with PC players experiencing frequent stuttering issues and frame rate drops.Ā
EA Sports WRCās first major post-launch update launched yesterday, bringing frame rate and graphics improvements according to the patch notes. Unfortunately, some players are still having performance issues even after installing the update .
EA Sports WRC still has performance issues after update 1.3
After installing the update 1.3 patch, a Reddit user experienced framerate drops āas low as 15 framesā when restarting a stage during a time trial on low and ultra-low settings. Another user shared a video showing visual artefacts appearing when tackling a Mexico stage after update 1.3.
On PS5, another Reddit user noticed stuttering occurring on stages where it didnāt happen before as well as a new bug where the steering wheel disappears in cockpit view. Conversely, other players are reporting improved graphics on PS5 and smoother performance on Xbox Series X.
Hopefully, more patches and hotfixes will improve the optimisation in the coming weeks, but EA Sports WRC clearly wasnāt ready for launch and should never have been released in this state. Itās frustrating, because EA Sports WRC is an otherwise excellent rally game, with terrific handling, a dream car list, and challenging stages.
