We’re now just one week away from EA Sports WRC’s early access release. With launch day getting closer and excitement from rally game fans building, EA has confirmed exactly when players who have pre-ordered can preload EA Sports WRC on Playstation, Xbox, and PC.
It's good news for most players, as EA Sports WRC can be preloaded today on most platforms. However, players on one platform have to wait a few days longer.
EA Sports WRC preload times
EA confirmed in a social media post that PC, Xbox, and EA Play players can preload EA Sports WRC from 23 October at 11:00 EST/15:00 UTC/16:00 BST. It’s a longer wait for PlayStation players, who can preload EA Sports WRC from 29 October at 00:00 EST/04:00 UTC/05:00 BST.
Luckily, that’s still enough time to download and install EA Sports WRC ready for launch day.
Everyone who pre-orders EA Sports WRC can start their rally career on 31 October, three days before the general 31 October release date. Pre-order players will also receive Ford, Toyota and Hyundai livery and apparel packs as well as a VIP Rally Pass.
File size
EA hasn’t confirmed EA Sports WRC’s file sizes. However, the Steam page's system requirements confirm you’ll need 95 GB of hard drive space on PC. That’s almost twice as big as WRC Generations’ 47GB file size. This is likely due to EA Sports WRC switching to Unreal Engine, resulting in longer and more detailed stages.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S file sizes are yet to be confirmed, but we expect them to be similar to PC. As such, you may want to clear some hard drive space before downloading EA Sports WRC.
