Euro Truck Simulator 2’s patch 1.56 has rolled out across Europe, and while it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it still packs plenty to keep your logbook busy. We have gone through every line of the changelog and grouped the new features into easy sections so you can see what is waiting before you hit the road.
Visual Upgrade

Height Blend is the headline graphic change. More than 1,300 ground materials were rebuilt so grass, dirt, and rock fade into one another instead of cutting off at hard lines. Hillsides, quarries, and roadside embankments now look smoother with almost no performance cost and only a tiny bump in memory use.
Fresh Cargo and Trailers

- The Special Transport DLC gains its biggest and heaviest load yet, the 80-tonne (90 with the trailer) CZ LOKO EffiShunter 1000. It is available on three escorted routes (Berlin to Szczecin, Kassel to Hamburg, and Bremen to Travemünde) and stands 5.3 m high once it is loaded.
- The base game adds two lighter CZ LOKO units, the 14-tonne MUV 75 and 36-tonne EffiShunter 300, both moved on standard lowbed trailers.
- Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack owners receive the 32 m S.CS High-Capacity Transport combo and the steer-axle S.KO City chassis, plus new branded lighting options across the whole lineup.
HS-Schoch Tuning Pack Refresh

Truckers who own the HS-Schoch Tuning Pack DLC now have access to updated bars and grilles: roof and front bars come in LED, non-LED, and strobe versions, and lower grilles gain slot-based choices as well as an LED variant.
Parts can be finished in chrome, regular paint, or matte paint, and two new paint jobs join the set. Big auxiliary lights also get a visual touch-up that is free for every player, whether or not you own the DLC.
Career and Company Tools

Profile management has been revamped to help with player onboarding and for those who maintain multiple saves. Your current save is pinned on top, other saves sort by recent play time, and a permanent New Career slot is always ready. A Truck Preference screen lets you spin, compare, or randomize every available rig in 3D before starting a new save.
Inside the Company tab, Driver, Truck, Trailer, and Garage managers share a unified look that shows your logo, a seven-day profit graph, and an instant economy summary. You can relocate a driver and their truck with a single checkbox, Garage and Driver managers unlock right from the start, and new XP bars plus group training rules make it easier to track hired drivers.
Ease-of-Use Extras
The interior camera's zoom can now act as a toggle instead of a hold. The new in-game DLC Browser displays four items per row and sorts everything into Featured, Bundles, Map, Cargo, Trailer, Accessories, and Paint Jobs so you can shop without leaving Euro Truck Simulator 2.
