With more and more digital rather than physical sales, the cover star of a sports game has become less important, but that hasn't stopped EA making noise about the F1 22 cover.
So, who is the cover star for this year? Well it turns out there are a few.
Charles Leclerc becomes EA SPORTS ambassador
Along with the new naming style, Codemasters and EA is bringing some fresh faces to the front of the game this year.
Taking centre stage is Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who is also singing up as an EA SPORTS ambassador.
"F1 22 is celebrating the best young talent in F1, and we are excited to build a deeper relationship with Charles Leclerc. Established as part of the new era of Formula 1, we will work with Charles throughout the season to bring our players closer to the action," said Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
Along with the current championship leader, Lando Norris and George Russell appear on the F1 22 cover.
The young trio is at the front of the new era of drivers that are gaining in popularity.
But what about the current champion Max Verstappen? Well, F1 22 isn't ignoring him.
F1 22 Champions Edition cover
Max takes the headline spot on the F1 22 Champions Edition cover, along with the three other F1 champions on this year's grid: Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Fernando Alonso.
The four drivers have 14 titles between them and a wealth of experience.
