Who has Codemasters added to the game? Let's take a look.
F1 22 Icons
Codemasters introduced iconic drivers to the F1 game as potential My Team drivers last year and it was a huge hit. With the likes of Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Alain Prost available, players were able to create their dream grids.
As confirmed in an EA press release, F1 22 brings three new Icons to the game.
Jacques Villeneuve
The 1995 Indycar champion and 1997 Formula 1 World Champion is back on the F1 grid thanks to F1 22.
We don't yet have his rating, but given he is a former champion and 11-time race winner he should get a pretty strong rating.
We think he'll go somewhere around 90-91.
Mark Webber
The granite-chinned Aussie is back! Mark Webber could have been 2010 World Champion but missed out at the end to teammate Sebastian Vettel.
The nine-time winner has 42 podiums to his name and raced with Minardi, Jaguar, Williams, and Red Bull in his time.
Given his lack of championship we would put Webber around the 87 overall mark.
Nico Hulkenberg
Players have longed to have Nico Hulkenberg available in F1 games for the last few years. He last held a permanent seat in F1 back in 2019 but has made reserve appearances in 2020 and 2022 with Racing Point and Aston Martin.
The German has a Le Mans 24h victory to his name, but in 181 Formula 1 starts never stood on the podium. You can change all that in F1 22 My Team though!
Given his relative lack of on-track success, we see Hulkenberg getting a rating of around 84.
Champions Edition
In order to get these three Icons you will need to purchase the F1 22 Champions Edition.
It's likely that they will be a DLC option on the store too, but the surest bet is to get the Champions Edition.
That will also get you three days early access to F1 22, letting you play from 28 June!
