F1 22 is getting a new update later in September! This patch brings with it a trio of major additions to the official Formula 1 game. These include a new circuit, livery and a new event.
Here's everything you need to know right here!
F1 22 Ferrari Update
Ferrari are the Formula 1 team with most history and success in the sport. Ferrari have also become an icon of the automotive industry, and this year marks 75 years since its launch.
So, to commemorate this, Scuderia Ferrari will be running a new special livery this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.
EA and Codemasters have replicated this in the video game too, as a splash of yellow has been added to the iconic red paint scheme. The Giallo Modena items also include driver uniforms, pit crew uniforms, helmet and boots.

Chinese Grand Prix
It's been rumoured for a long time, and we now have the confirmation. The Shanghai International Circuit will return to the F1 game. We haven't seen the Chinese Grand Prix on the calendar since 2019, but it's set to return in 2023.
This will bring the total circuit available in F1 22 up to 24 after the addition of the Portuguese Grand Prix earlier in the year.
To celebrate the Chinese Moon Festival as well, there's also a Zhou Guanyu featured weekly event that will go live soon too. We'll find out what's in store for Alfa Romeo's Chinese driver when the update lands next week, but it's been confirmed that he'll be sporting another custom livery as shown below:
Release date
This update will be rolled out to all players on all systems worldwide on 12th September, so this coming Monday. The Ferrari livery update will be free for a month, after which we aren't sure what will happen.
It's possible that Ferrari's livery will be rolled back and replaced with the standard livery we've had all season so far. These limited-time items could later become available in the game's store.
