Bahrain is well-known for being the location of the F1 curtain raiser every year. With our ideal F1 23 Bahrain setup, you'll be taking the win every time a season begins!
Update: If you're looking for F1 24 setups, you can find the best F1 24 Bahrain setup here.
F1 23 Bahrain setup
As the first race of the year and a favourite for online lobbies, Bahrain is definitely the track that people will tend to race the most. This fast and flowing track has a lot of overtaking opportunities but also tricky corners that require a precise balance.
With two incredibly heavy braking zones too, you definitely need the right setup to keep pointing the right way in Bahrain.
Aerodynamics
We’ve gone with a 36-35 aerodynamic setting for Bahrain. This will keep you slippery in the straights without sacrificing performance in the braking zones.
This means you can stay quick down the pit straight, but still find the downforce through the tricky T1-T3 complex at the end.
Transmission
This part of the setup dictates how the rear wheels rotate in relation to each other. We’ve gone with 56% on-throttle differential and 54% off-throttle differential.
This allows for good rotation, but not so much that you’ll lose the rear. If the car is a bit too loose on the throttle then try a click or two more on the off-throttle diff.
Suspension geometry
We've selected a front camber of -2.50 and a rear camber of -1.00.
Combined with a front toe of 0.00 and a rear tow of 0.12, this will keep the car quick whilst providing good cornering.
Suspension
A 15-10 on the suspension and 9-1 for the anti-roll bars provides good rotation for the slow corners without sacrificing stability.
Ride height has been set to 37-40 to protect the underside of the car. The last thing you want is to lose a place by riding the infamous T10 outside kerb.
Brakes
100% brake pressure is the meta in F1 23, while 57% brake bias is a good spot for Bahrain's tricky braking zones.
This will help you trust the car into T1, T8, and T10.
Tyres
Front tyre pressure of 22.9 PSI will give better performance across the full circuit.
We can keep the rear tyres at 20.2 PSI. Just beware that the temperatures may be cold when first emerging from the pits.
Adjustments
These setups are intended for intermediate players who may still be using assists like traction control and ABS. However, if you are looking for an extra edge then you can try a few of these adjustments:
- Decrease the wing levels by 1-3 clicks to improve top speed
- This will make the car less capable on turn-in and less stable in high-speed direction changes
- If the car doesn't feel like it is doing what you want on turn-in then raise the front wing a click or two
- If the car is too loose at low speeds try moving the off-throttle differential to 53/54 for more stability
- For a more "pointy" car stiffen the front suspension & anti-roll bar
- This will make getting traction trickier
- Don't be afraid to move brake bias during the lap. More frontward will give better performance in heavy braking zones, and a rearward for lighter braking zones
- Lockups are easier to achieve in F1 23 than previous games. Front locking is less catastrophic than rear locking, and which way you go from our mark will increase your chances of a lockup in that direction
- Add a click of tyre pressure for short online races to improve tyre warm-up!
