October sees the beginning of the end of the Formula 1 season, but for F1 23 the update train rolls on. Update 1.15 to F1 23 will see the updating of all F1 car liveries, new events in F1 World to enjoy, and of course the arrival of the 2023 Formula 2 season.
Let’s take a look at Update 1.15 coming to F1 23, including its release date.
Refreshing the grid
Update 1.15 to F1 23 brings with it the F1 Sports Update. This will see all of the F1 cars updated, including new bodywork, liveries, and sponsor placements.
F1 23 has done a great job so far this year bringing limited edition liveries such as the Ferrari Racing Tribute and Gulf x Williams Racing Bolder Than Bold liveries via F1 World, but this update will focus on the ‘default’ liveries the cars will run during races.
The highlight of the F1 Sports Update though is definitely the geometric updates to the F1 cars. This should see the abolishment of the Mercedes no-pod design, amongst other changes to the rest of the grid. Car appearance is a significant factor in player feedback for the F1 series, so it’s good to see Codemasters addressing this head-on.
It’s not just F1 in the limelight in Update 1.15 however.
A new formula
F1 23’s Update 1.15 also sees the long-awaited arrival of the 2023 Formula 2 season. Now players will be able to strap on the racing suit of Victor Martins, Enzo Fittipaldi, and 2023 Formula 2 champion Theo Porchaire.
The F2 update will be available for all F1 23 players, meaning we’ll all be able to take on the rest of the F2 grid in the 14 Formula 2 races. Along with the 2023 drivers, Update 1.15 will also include every F2 team and car from 2023.
As well as bringing the 2023 Formula 2 season to F1 23, Update 1.15 also brings new My Team icons to the game. F1 Esports champions are expected to be added throughout October, with 2022 champion Lucas Blakely leading the charge.
So we know what’s coming in Update 1.15 to F1 23, but when will the update be released?
