Having the best camera settings in F1 24 is vital. If you aren't racing the correct camera angle, you won't be able to judge gaps around your car or see the corner properly.
Everybody has their preference, but some camera settings and angles are objectively better than others.
We've got everything you need to know about the best F1 24 camera settings right here!
F1 24 Best Camera Settings
While there are many camera angle options in F1 24, three are worth using. The TV pod, offset TV pod and Cockpit camera give you the best views for racing.
You can also use the third-person Chase camera, but it is too far removed from the car to allow you to do competitive lap times.
To change the camera angle in F1 24, press R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox. This will allow you to cycle through the angles before choosing your favorite.
General Camera Settings
Whether you're in a race weekend or in the main menu settings, you can alter your camera settings in F1 24.
The first thing we recommend is turning off Camera Shake and Camera Movement by turning these down to 0.
They are both set to 20 by default, but this makes the screen blurry when you have contact, run over the kerbs, or when turning, which can be distracting.
Cockpit Camera Settings
You can also adjust the Cockpit camera for a more immersive racing experience and a better view of the racing line.
The Halo column can be enabled or disabled depending. Although it's less realistic, we recommend turning this setting off for better visibility.
We also recommend turning the Look to Apex Limit setting to 15, as this ensures your driver looks towards the apex of the corner, just like you would in real life.
If you want the most realistic settings possible, these are the closest to what you'd see if you were actually driving an F1 car:
- Field of View: -12
- Offset Horizontal: 0
- Offset Vertical: 13
- Angle: -16
- Near Clip Plane: 0
- Mirror Angle: 0
- Camera Shake: 0
- Camera Movement: 0
- Look to Apex Limit: 15
- Halo Column: On
This is all according to F1 YouTuber Thomb, who has driven an actual Formula 1 car.
TV Pod Settings
There are also two TV Pod camera settings you can customize. Here are the the best TV-pod camera settings:
- Field of View: -10
- Offset Lateral: 0
- Offset Horizontal: 2
- Offset Vertical: 17
- Angle: -20
- Near Clip Plane: 20
- Mirror Angle: 0
- Camera Shake: 0
- Camera Movement: 0
As for the offset TV pod, these are the best camera settings:
- Field of View: -10
- Offset Lateral: 0
- Offset Horizontal: 2
- Offset Vertical: 17
- Angle: -20
- Near Clip Plane: 20
- Mirror Angle: 0
- Camera Shake: 0
- Camera Movement: 0
These are our recommended settings, but you might have different preferences so feel free to experiment to find the settings that work best for you.
